Starlink Mini Gear
How we run a Starlink Mini from our Tesla and while camping: the accessories we kept and my referral link.
I bought a Starlink Mini mainly for backup home internet when my internet was spotty but it’s also been useful for road trips and camping.

What we kept
| Item | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| MEKEET waterproof hard case | ~$40 | Cut foam inside, with a shoulder strap. Keeps the dish and cables together in the trunk |
| 10.2 ft USB-C to DC power cable | ~$18 | Runs the Mini from any 100 W USB-C PD source, so the 12V Starlink cable isn’t needed |
| Anker 167.5W USB-C car charger | ~$34 | Plug the cable above into the 100 W port. The car’s built-in USB-C ports aren’t strong enough |
Prices are approximate as of October 2026.
How we power it
- In the car: 12V socket → Anker charger → USB-C cable → Mini. In a Tesla, turn on Camp Mode overnight so the socket stays on after the car goes to sleep.
- At camp: the same USB-C cable plugged into a power station’s 100 W USB-C port. A ~1,000 Wh station runs the Mini for about a day.
